my life as a nanny

since a lot of people where wondering why I am just partying or travelling, here some insights into my daily life, which I would also call '365 days of holidays'

besides dropping the kids off to school, picking them up, cooking and driving them to their afterschool activities I can pretty much do what I'm up for...

- sunbaking on my balcony
- taking our dog rosie for a walk in the park
- reading in the sun
- having a cocktail at the end of the work day with my best friend
- watching TV and having delicious lunch
- running or gym
- swimming in our own pool
-  and baking

... are the things I normally do when the kids are in school.

Not too bad hey? 4 months to go!

one day in glebe

long been on our list, we thought it's time to go to glebe today.
we started at the glebe markets.
from moschino parkas, heisenberg t-shirts to self-made watercolor-painting to 10$ massages and heaps of food stalls, there was everything.
since I love second-hand shopping this was paradise.
loosing my credit card last weekend or more forgetting-my-credit-card-in-the-cash-machine-and-just-having-1,50$-in-my-wallet was not the best condition for a shopping day (stupidity has to be punished)
luckily my friend borrowed me some money, thanks again kira! you saved my saturday!

afterwards we went into a small book shop which had a hidden café in the backyard.
my first sushi and a cocktail in my most favorite underground bar 'grandmas' rounded off the day.

out of africa

Karen Blixen: Perhaps he knew, as I did not, that the Earth was made round so that we would not see too far down the road. - quote 'out of africa'

i'm spending valentines day with my true love - food

Valentines Day.
I finished work earlier today and drove into the city. Standing at the bus station I literally felt love in the air. Couples and couples and couples everywhere.
While I was walking down to darling harbour to have my first kangeroo I observed people. My most favourite thing to do. After eating of course, or even better - while eating! Anyways..
From girls carrying roses, beautiful dresses and suits, crying woman, marriage proposals in korean to glowing loveboats and fireworks - nothing is impossible. (es gibt nichts was es nicht gibt!)

The fillet was divine.
Served on a bed of grilled eggplant, zucchini and red capsicum and rosemary potatos on the side, it was one of the best dinner I had in a while. The restaurant I was dining in is called 'The Plate'.
So whoever is in Sydney and wants to try kangeroo fillet - try it at that place.

Watching the fireworks was the best ending to that special day.
